NM30 - Fully Managed 8-Port Railway Ethernet Switch

The NM30 family is a range of 8-port fanless and maintenance-free managed Ethernet switches, developed specifically for rough environmental conditions in rolling stock applications.

High Speed, High Efficiency and Extensive Protocols

The 29 Gbit/s, TCAM based, store-and-forward switching matrix of the NM30 allows high-performance layer 2 switching over all connected interfaces. For easy remote management and access, layer 3 protocols, e.g., IPv4/IPv6 and DHCP, are integrated. The switch provides extended security features like SNMPv3, SSH and HTTPS. Traffic isolation (VLAN) and switching redundancy protocols (e.g., STP, RSTP, MSTP) provide safe running of the network using redundant data paths in the event of a fault. The ITU-T G.8031/G.8032 ring and linear protection switching feature set makes NM30 able to create network ring scenarios with recovery time under 50 ms. Monitoring and diagnosis functions, e.g., sFlow or SNMPv1, v2c, v3 are provided.

Versatile Application Possibilities

The NM30 range provide eight channels at the front panel, accessible through M12 connectors and cover different application requirements, and either 100 Mb or 1 Gb Ethernet interfaces.

Compliant to Railway Standards

The voltage supply for the NM30 Managed Ethernet Switch is designed for maximum flexibility and supports wide range input supply voltages from 14.4 V DC to 154 V DC, and meets all EN 50155 class S2 requirements for voltages ranging from 24 V DC to 110 V DC.

Conduction Cooled

The NM30 is designed for fanless operation at temperatures ranging from -40 °C to +70 °C (10 min @ +85 °C). The NM30 features IP40 protection when mounted as specified and cooling fins which serve as a heatsink for the internal electronics, and in this way provides conduction cooling.

As a member of MEN's family of extremely rugged industrial box PCs, the NM30 provides the same flexibility and scalability, as well as a look and feel which is common to the family.
