The AF2 is a space-saving shelf-controller adapter board (SHC) which can be implemented in duagon's CompactPCI or CompactPCI Serial systems to add basic management functionality such as system startup, shutdown, temperature and power supply monitoring, fan control and management of the uninterruptible power supply.
The AF2 consists of a small adapter board with the microcontroller which is connected to the backplane and from there to a second, optional, board which can be installed on the front of the system to indicate system status via LEDs and provide a power button.
The AF2 supports up to three fans and three PSUs, two of which can be uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). Depending on the UPS charging state the system can be shut down or the system start delayed.
The firmware and the configuration of the AF2 shelf controller can be updated in the field via a USB maintenance port or through the host interface.
