40 HP Hybrid System
This compact 4U rack-mount enclosure is a basic 40 HP system that allows the configuration with both CompactPCI Serial and CompactPCI cards. Being a hybrid system, it offers an uncomplicated and cost-effective migration solution from parallel 3U CompactPCI to serial CompactPCI Serial via the CompactPCI PlusIO standard.
The 7-slot hybrid backplane in this configuration does not need a bridge or an active logic. The three slots on the left are designed for 32-bit CompactPCI and rear I/O on P2. The four slots on the right are reserved for CompactPCI Serial. The CompactPCI PlusIO system slot is the third slot from the left. This hybrid system is designed for use with MEN CompactPCI PlusIO system slot SBCs.
Flexible Configuration
That way, the two CompactPCI peripheral slots and two CompactPCI Serial peripheral slots as well as 2 PCI or PCI Express slots can accommodate a large range of functions. If the 2 PCI or PCI Express slots are not required, two additional CompactPCI Serial peripheral slots are available.
The system supports the effortless integration of standard PCI or PCI Express cards via an adapter. The choice of modules is therefore not limited to CompactPCI cards.
The system is equipped with a shelf controller offering basic management functionality such as system startup, shutdown, temperature and power supply monitoring or fan control.
