In rail transport 5G mobile communication systems enable more reliable, secure and higher data transmission rates thus allowing for a more flexible and efficient operation. For predictive maintenance, diagnostics server, internet-on-board or back-office communication, duagon has developed a new rugged CompactPCI Serial carrier board with wireless 5G via a M.2 card slot.
Another showcase will be a soon to come 3U CompactPCI Serial CPU board featuring the 11th generation Intel® Core™ and Intel® Xeon® W-11000E Series processors. The single board computer is well suited for high-end embedded computing rail onboard and rail wayside.
On top of our new product designs our engineering services and LCM team will be available to discuss how to support you throughout the product life-cycle with an active obsolescence management, life cycle extension, material compliance reporting and cyber security services

Train Door Control
Communication Interface for Door Controllers

For the connection to the train communication network (MVB, HDLC, IPTCom, TRDP, TCP/IP UDP, CIP, PROFINET), leading door manufacturers rely on duagon interface cards. The communication interface controls, for example, whether the door should open or close or on which side of the train the doors should open. Vice versa the VCU (Vehicle Control Unit) receives status and diagnostic information about the doors. Firmware updates are also uploaded via the interface card.

Driver Desk Human Machine Interface (HMI)
Display Computers for Coach or Bus Console

The display computer HMI used in the driver's desk in a coach or bus enables the driver to access various data, e.g. information about the route and traffic or live pictures from internal surveillance cameras. Additionally, these displays can be used to print and validate tickets.

Diagnosis and Maintenance Systems
Panel PCs, Single Board Computer, Box PCs and Modular Compact PCI Systems

In one application, a predictive maintenance system is combined with passenger information services like pending seat reservation, current trip information and potential connections. The platform takes care of all data transfer between individual trains and the railway company's central servers via UMTS/LTE, WLAN and GPS.

Track Maintenance
Embedded Single Board Computers with Intel Cores

Maintenance of tracks is usually performed by special machines and during nighttime when railway traffic is lower. In this application the online track measurement is done with regular trains, replacing specialized measurement trains.
